Silver medallist at the 2023 World Championships with the French relay team, 400 meter specialist and rising star of French athletics, Téo Andant has enjoyed a special relationship with Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer for several years. An ‘adopted Monegasque’ athlete, supported by SBM and deeply attached to the Principality, he returned to the Stade Louis-II on 18 November to offer an exclusive training session to volunteer employees of the Group. It was a moment of intense sharing, reflecting the strong bond that unites the athlete with Monaco. Interview.
1. A strong bond with the employees of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer
2. A professional athlete supported by Monaco

You regularly meet with Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer employees. What does this mean to you?
Téo Andant: It's always a pleasure. The first time, I came to talk about my career and my sporting ambitions. And for the past two years, I've had the pleasure of organising training sessions for SBM employees. It's important for me to share my passion and introduce them to my sport. They support me on a daily basis, so I appreciate being able to offer them these opportunities to interact.
What are your main goals for 2026?
Téo Andant: This season, everything is focused on the European Championships in Birmingham in mid-August 2026. That's the number one goal. It will be an incredible opportunity to shine on the international stage and represent both France and Monaco.
You often emphasise your dual attachment to France and Monaco. Why is that?
Téo Andant: France is my country, and I am proud to represent it. But Monaco is my adopted country. It is where I grew up as an athlete. I have always raced for AS Monaco, and the Principality has given me so much, both personally and materially. I even had the opportunity to represent Monaco at the Games of the Small States of Europe. And then, during competitions in France, I am often considered ‘the Monégasque’. That touches me. Without the support of the club, the Principality and Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, I would not be able to make a living from my sport. I owe them a lot.
Is your partnership with Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer part of this recognition?
Téo Andant: Absolutely. The S.B.M. Group has been supporting me financially for three years. In exchange, I represent them on my jersey during championships, on my social media accounts and at events organised for employees.

What is your daily training routine like?
Téo Andant: I train every day except Sundays. I run every day for most of the year. When a competition is coming up, we vary our routine: weight training, explosiveness work, particularly jumps and reactivity exercises, to be as dynamic as possible on the day.
I'm lucky to work with my coach, Marc Vecchio, at INSEP in Paris. When I go down to Monaco, it's harder to be alone on the track, even though it's always good to be back.
What sporting achievement are you most proud of today?
Téo Andant: The silver medal at the 2023 World Championships with the relay team. It's the greatest moment of my career. But what touches me the most is the pride of my parents and those around me. It's for them that I push myself.

You have a degree in journalism. Are you considering a career change to become a sports columnist?
Téo Andant: Maybe, yes. I like the media world. I graduated three years ago and even did an internship at Monaco Info. But for now, I'm fully committed to my career as a professional athlete. We'll see what the future holds.

Can you imagine coming back to live here one day?
Téo Andant: When I come down in November and it's 20 degrees... of course, it makes me want to! I grew up here, I have ties here. But for now, I'm happy in Paris, I'm training very well there. Maybe one day I'll come back, who knows?
