# Strong, united, and supportive together.
In the face of the COVID-19 crisis, a message of solidarity and resilience was born. Over the course of a few weeks it has gathered pace, uniting a growing community around one symbolic motto.
This was how, on 25 March 2020, the #strongtogether movement was formed.
“STRONG TOGETHER”. Two words, chosen to show our unity and support for each other during this difficult time. A collective message of resistance against the brutality of the situation we are in.
We told Anthony Alberti – a Monegasque artist also known as Mister One Teas – about the slogan so that he could give shape to the words. The Casino de Monte-Carlo has hung his creation banner-like from its facade, as both a call for resilience and courage in these testing times, and to represent the fact that we are all facing them together.
The fact that we are #strongtogether has rapidly become clear, as it is only by working together that we will tackle the pandemic and return to our colleagues, friends, work and the things we love …
# A movement that spreads a message of hope throughout Monaco.
H.S.H. Prince Albert II has honoured us with his support for the movement and given it energy, the likes of which have never been seen before in Monaco. H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie has also joined our cause.
This is more than a movement: it’s become a human chain, and it’s growing every day. The slogan can now be seen displayed by the Monegasque government, as well as the city’s institutions, partners and businesses. The Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation is currently printing it onto masks offered to the people of Monaco: to the city’s residents, those still going to work, and shopkeepers, showing the extent of their commitment to the fight against the epidemic.
We’re all in this together – these efforts reflect our mental strength, and it is you who has made them possible. We began this movement together: it is already part of our community’s history, and those hopeful words – shared by our fellow citizens on social media, on banners, on masks, on buildings, on buses and more – express the full extent of our need for collective action: our need to resist, and to fight together.
Let’s continue to spread this message of solidarity .
