Looks could often be deceiving during the Prohibition era of the 1920s... and people got particularly creative when it came to concealing their precious alcohol. Just like with this classy Hendrick’s Tea Time creation: an Earl Grey-infused gin cocktail served in a teapot. Full of wintry flavours, it’s perfect for sipping under a blanket by the fireside.
INGREDIENTS
6cl Earl Grey-infused Hendrick’s gin
0.5cl gingerbread syrup
1.5cl banana juice
Bitter orange marmalade
3cl orangeade
In a shaker:
Crush 3 orange segments with a spoonful of marmalade.
Add 6cl of Earl Grey-infused Hendrick’s gin, 1cl of banana juice and 0.5cl gingerbread syrup
Shake
Pour the mixture into a teapot with a few ice cubes and add 3cl of orangeade.
The brief for this cocktail?
This cocktail is a reinterpretation of teatime. It contains wintry ingredients reminiscent of the flavours you might enjoy tucked up beside the fire while it’s cold outside: tea-flavoured gin, gingerbread…
Our favourite ingredient?
The ingredient which makes this cocktail so interesting - and justifies its presentation in a teapot - is the tea-infused gin!
