For four days, from 27-30 June, 47 exceptional cars competed at the latest edition of Elegance and Automobile in Monte-Carlo, which took place in Monaco. Refinement, glamour and excellence were on the agenda of this highly anticipated event.
On 27 June at 2 p.m., the Casino Terraces welcomed the 47 vintage cars that competed in this year’s event. A delight for the eyes, which, every year, enthrals classic car lovers. Enthusiastic spectators expressed their appreciation when the four-wheeled visions roared to life for a timeless ride on the roads of the French Riviera. A 34-km ride to celebrate these automobiles, which have withstood the test of time without the faintest scratch. The elder model, a 1914 Mercedes 28/95 Phaeton, paraded proudly in the Casino square alongside more recent models, such as the 2019 Maserati Sciadipersia Cabriolet.

Just-as-exceptional judges
It was hard to sort such finery on four wheels into the nine categories (Full Sun, Road and Track, Dolce Vita, Solo) of awards. This was the challenge of the panel of judges for this concours d’elegance, organised by the Automobile Club of Monaco and Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer, as well as our exclusive partner, the bank J. Safra Sarasin. A panel chaired by Sandra Button, Chairman of Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and including the Monaco artist Lorena Baricalla, former Director of Design of the FCA group Lorenzo Ramaciotti and former Formula 1 driver Thierry Boutsen. After much deliberation, the results were announced on Sunday 30 June at 11:00 a.m. while the 47 participants waited in the Prince’s Palace square. Without a doubt, the best reward for the nine winners was being congratulated by HSH Princess Charlene.
