Operas and lyrical performances
For her fourth season at the helm of the Monte Carlo Opera, the artistic director Cecilia Bartoli is bringing opera to the fore by bringing together some of the stars of the stage: Roberto Alagna, Plácido Domingo, Sir Bryn Terfel, and mezzo-soprano Elina Garanca. They will perform opera masterpieces such as Verdi's Aida, Wagner's Die Walküre, Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice, Mozart's Cosi fan tutte, and more. But there will also be musical theater, with twenty performances of Cats and a tribute to Josephine Baker, who died just fifty years ago!
The director has put together a season that is both traditional and daring in its new forms. However, the traditional operatic identity will remain very much present.
The Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo
Thanks to its ability to combine tradition and modernity, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo plays a leading role in the interpretation of symphonic works from the great repertoire, the revival of rare and contemporary works, and operatic and choreographic creation.
This 2025-2026 edition will feature 22 symphonic concerts, including an exceptional concert to mark the 25th anniversary of the Friends of the Orchestra and 2 as part of the Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo Festival, 2 symphonic film-concerts, 8 recitals and 5 chamber music concerts, 9 musical Happy Hours, 2 Young Audiences concerts, 2 spiritual concerts, 1 traditional music concert, with the participation of nearly 50 guest artists and 5 guest choirs.
